Not necessarily! You only need Wi-Fi if you want to stream from Netflix, YouTube, or download new apps. You do NOT need the internet to play the 20,000 built-in games, watch movies from a USB flash drive, or connect to your Satellite Decoder/Laptop via HDMI.
